Breaking News

Welcome to our new Administration Manager, Jenni Wright. Jenni comes to us with vast experience in management and bookkeeping and is a welcome addition to the Caboolture Turf team.  Jenni replaces Ann who most people would have dealt with after her 11 month stint in the office.  Be sure to say hi next time you call!

Domestic – Spring is here – Fertilise Now!

Unfortunately with it has come the rain and kept us out of our back yards for a few weekends.  With rain there are some advantages though and now is the time to renovate your lawn and get ready for summer.  A good deep mow will help as well as reduce any thatch level and then you can aerate the ground.  From here test the PH levels and add some lime and then start the application of your quality summer fertiliser program.

Fertilising your lawn in spring helps it to perform optimally throughout both spring and summer.  A well fertilised lawn grows thick and green on far less water than one that has not been fertilised.  A good meal of fertiliser will also help your lawn to crowd out weeds.

The Caboolture Turf Lawn Shop sells premium granular lawn fertiliser to satisfy all your lawn's nutritional requirements.  It has a slow release action, which means that it will sustain your lawn for a long period of time and won't cause damage.  Remember to water the fertiliser in well – or apply it in rainy weather to save on water.

To measure when your lawn needs to be fertilised again, double fertilise and double water a small patch of your lawn.  When this patch appears to be a brighter green than the rest of the lawn, it's time to apply more fertiliser!

For more information on fertilising your lawn, you can view our website videos on how to feed your lawn and when to fertilise.

Now is also the time to think about removing and replacing your lawn if it is tired or an old variety that does not grow properly in your current conditions. Caboolture Turf’s services can make short work of such a project, so ask for your free quote now.

Trade

Varieties such as Sir Walter, Conquest and Wintergreen are ready to go, it has never been more convenient to call in and pick up an order.

On the delivery side, things are hotting up as we get into the summer period and with Christmas now approaching all 3 trucks will be doing their rounds as quickly as possible. Be sure to get your orders placed well in advance to ensure your position on the daily run.

Don’t forget to order your Sir Launcher with all turf orders. This fantastic product is spread under the turf before it is laid and gives your customers the best possible start to their new lawn as it prevents it from drying out to much, especially in summer.

Sporting – Village Green Kikuyu hits Queensland!!!!!!!!!

Yep, you heard it here first.

The new revolutionary Village Green Kikuyu has hit Queensland and as the sole agent for this fantastic grass we are proud to announce that Lindsay Petersen from the Toowoomba Regional Council has been the first person to use Village Green.

Caboolture Turf line planted an oval in Toowoomba at the beginning of October so we will keep you informed as it grows in for the results. Lindsay is also trying some Village Green in a goal square and also some Transforma in another.

Caboolture Turf is a proud supporter of the STA and the AGCSA, providing specialized products to all our customers.  All turf is mown at 17mm with John Deere cylinder mowers and can be customised to Transforma, washed turf or planting material beyond this.

Out and About

This month we were going to report on the STA field day held at Caboolture Turf and Stockland Park on the Sunshine Coast but due to rain this event has been postponed.   We look forward to telling you all about it in the next edition so make sure you are booked and ready to go.

Coming up in the November Issue

We put off our Replace, Reclaim, Relax story for this issue until next time.

New technology in this department has not yet been sorted so we look forward to the next issue which will focus on re-turfing your patch of paradise.

Many yards in Brisbane suffer from having the wrong cheap, nasty or inferior variety of lawn. In many cases as the gardens have grown yards have become shaded, not allowing the couch to grow.

Can replacing your old tired lawn, reclaiming your back yard and then relaxing in your new oasis be the key to healthy outdoor lifestyle this summer?
